February 2013 Meeting Recap
The ALAP gang got together for another wonderful potluck meeting February 7 at MLUI. After the delicious food, we first heard from MiFarmmarket’s Scotty Bruce. Scotty gave us a quick update on the strong holiday sales results achieved by MiFM and the continued momentum they are taking into the new year. We then heard from Stephen Ezell from EHA-Ventures about the significant progress made to date taking Selestial Soap to the next level. Selestial is growing rapidly both in the retail and the commercial sides of the natural detergent business with breakthroughs on the R&D and the marketing fronts which are driving a significant ramp in order flow. The challenge for Stephen and Selestial now is to build up the production and human infrastructure to meet the expected surge in demand for their products. Both Scotty (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Stephen (Stephen@eha-ventures.com) are shoring up plans for additional capital raising and would love to hear from those in the ALAP network interested in learning more. Our next potluck meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 14 from 6-9pm @ MLUI. Timothy Young of Food for Thought is confirmed as our main slot speaker and Chris Sack from Great Lakes Tea and Spice may also be previewing his future plans in one of our “mini-slots.” Spread the word!
